ADVANCEMENT CEREMONIES 2
JUST FOR FIN FUN
The boys love it when their parents or leaders take a part in the program. Celebrate July’s Fin
Fun by having some of the adults perform this song, wearing swim goggles and flippers. Invite
audience participation by passing out stick puppets of the various sea creatures and ask
everyone to stand and animate their puppet when it is mentioned in the song.
FIN FUN!
Words by Carol Shaw Lord
Tune: Splish, Splash
Splish! Splash!
I was diving in the deep,
Wearing all my cool scuba gear.
Down, down,
I just had to snoop around -
See what’s going on down here.
I swam down to the bottom
Took a look around the reef
I was so surprised
That I almost dropped my teeth!
Well, splish! Splash!
They were having a bash
How was I to know
There was a party going on?
(Chorus)
The fishes did the swishes,
Eels were doing reels,
The clams were doing jams.
Sea horses joined the chorus.
Bub, bubble
Wasn’t any trouble!
Could not believe what I had spied.
Down in the coral
Wasn’t any quarrel
They, busy having fun, were occupied.
So much joy together
The like I’d never seen
No one even cared if their gills
Were pink or green.
Yeah! Flip, flop!
The music wouldn’t stop.
How could I be sad
With so much happiness around?
(Repeat chorus several times)
