"THANK YOU AMERICA" FLAG CEREMONY

#1 Thank you AMERICA, for our beautiful and spacious land, our millions of acres of
fields and wooded hills, our forests and grasslands, our mountains and treeless plains.
#2 Thank you for our rivers and lakes, and for the patterns of brooks flowing to the sea;
for two great oceans—on the east and west, and two peaceful borders on the north and
south.
All: Thank you AMERICA, for all the beauty of this land.
#3 Thank you AMERICA for abundance; for trees in our forest—hardwoods
and soft, that give us lumber for building houses, stores, & factories.
#4 Thank you for the wild life in our forests, and the fish in our streams,
and above all for the fertility of our soil that enables us to produce so
large a share of the world’s meat and cotton, corn and wheat.
#5 Thank you for the riches under the earth—silver and copper, gold and lead and zinc, oil
and coal, iron and uranium…
All: Thank you AMERICA for all this bounty we are blessed with.
#6 Thank you AMERICA, for opportunity and the open door. For the chance to live
where we please, to work where we want, to own property, and manage our own
affairs, and to succeed or fail according to the ways we develop our abilities.
All: Thank you AMERICA for our heritage of freedom and independence, for ringing
words that come out of the past as strong as the day they were spoken: “Give me
liberty or give me death"; “Liberty and justice for all"; “Life, liberty, and the
pursuit of happiness;” “From every mountain side, let freedom ring.”
#5 Thank you America for your faith in us, and in the future.
May we be given the foresight to care for the bounty which
you have entrusted to us so that Americans who follow will
know the same plenty we are grateful for.
All: Thank you America, For the past, for the present, and for
the future, and help us be worthy of our heritage.
Please join me in the Pledge of Allegiance.
