SONG: “I LOVE THE MOUNTAINS”

(This is a great song to sing as a “round”) I love the mountains, I love the rolling hills, I love the flowers, I love the daffodils, I love the fireside when the lights are low, Boom-de-ah-da, Boom-de-ah-da, Boom-de-ah-da, Boom-de-aye. Boom-de-ah-da, Boom-de-ah-da, Boom-de-ah-da, Boom-de-aye.

SONG: “THERE’S A TREE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WOODS”

Tune: There’s a Hole in the Bottom of the Sea There’s a tree in the middle of the woods There’s a tree in the middle of the woods There’s a tree, there’s a tree There’s a tree in the middle of the woods. There’s a branch on the tree in the middle of the woods… There’s a nest on the twig… There’s a bird in the nest… There’s a wing on the bird… There’s a spider on the wing… There’s a flea on the spider on the wing on the bird in the nest on the twig on the branch on the tree in the middle of the woods.

PLASTIC BOTTLE STUNT

Set out some 2-liter bottles filled with water and have the group step over them without knocking them over. Produce a blindfold and tell the group they now need to step over the bottles blindfolded. Blindfold the first boy, take him to where the bottles were, and tell him to step as high as he can. After he is blindfolded, have another person remove the bottles. The stepper is stepping over nothing. Another version is to have someone verbally guide the person through the obstacle course which is not there.
