Camp Staff Lullaby

Over in Pine Acres, a day or so ago,
I heard a camp staff moaning
On his hand-held radio.
His words, they had no meaning
His voice was full of fear
The echo of his screaming
Was ringing in my ears.

A tour at Treasure Valley,
At summer camp am I.
The song that I am singing
Is a camp staff lullaby.

As the OD, I was worried
And the CQ, he stood near,
Together we could see it
At the end of our career.
We huddled near the console
And then paced to and fro,
In great anticipation to hear
The voice on the radio.

A tour at Treasure Valley,
At summer camp am I.
The song that I am singing
Is a camp staff lullaby.

Then within the garble,
There came a blare of hope
The reason for the screaming
Was an overflowed Bardo!
