Flavored Popcorn
No circus would be complete
without popcorn. Here are some
wonderfully flavored popcorns for
crunching and munching.
Tex-Mex Popcorn
Add a pinch of chili powder to melted
butter, pour over popcorn and toss.
Pizza Popcorn
Top with oregano, basil and parsley stirred
into melted butter.
Cinnamon Popcorn
Shake popcorn with cinnamon-sugar
Tomato Soup With Goop
Each boy will need:
1 bowl tomato soup (any kind will do)
1 1chunk mozzarella cheese
1 1-ounce string cheese stick
Heat soup and ladle into bowls. Have boys
slide chunk into a bowl and tear string cheese
into strings and drop into soup. While soup
is cooling, strings, and chunk can be lifted up
and played with.
Arachnid Treats
2 round crackers
2 teaspoons peanut butter
8 small pretzel sticks
2 raisins
With peanut butter, make a cracker
sandwich. Insert pretzel legs into the filling.
With a dab of peanut butter, place two raisin
eyes on top.
Mini Witches Brooms
Thin pretzel sticks
Fruit-by-the-foot
Scissors
Several drops of water
Cut a 2 length of fruit-by-the-foot. Make a
fringe along the length of it, leaving a 1/4
border at the top to create broom bristles.
Dampen finger and run it along the border.
Twist around the pretzel handle" wet side
in.
Vanishing White Chocolate Ghosts
1 12-ounce package white chocolate chips or
dipping chocolate
12 popsicle sticks
24 red hot candies
Pour chips into a resealable bag and seal.
Microwave for 1-2 minutes, squishing the
bag every 30 seconds (watch closely; chips
burn fast in the microwave). Or, place the
bag in a pot of simmering water until the
chips melt. Line a cookie sheet with waxed
paper and place the popsicle sticks on the
paper leaving 2 between them. When the
bag of melted chips feels warm but not hot,
snip a hole in one corner of the bag and
squeeze oval-shaped ghosts onto the top of
the sticks, smoothing the chocolate with a
table knife. Add two red hots for the eyes. Let
harden in the refrigerator. Give them to the
boys and watch them vanish.
