Scouters, it's great you joined us for another issue of our weekly newsletter. Did you know I am an Eagle Scout, class of 1991? I earned my Eagle with Troop 141 at Edwards Air Force Base in California, and my service project involved setting up an interpretive trail at Vasquez Rocks, Los Angeles County Park.

With that said, what amazing projects have your Scouts done for their Eagle Project? Would they like a congratulatory letter from us? All you have to do is contact us with the scout's name, details about their project & challenges he overcame, plus any other information you think would be useful. You can either use the contact form https://insanescouter.org/contact_us.php or email us at scottr@insanescouter.org

________________________________________Hi Andy, We have a troop of some one hundred Scouts, all active and involved, and we’re still growing modestly every year. But this year, we gained twenty new Scouts all at once! They crossed over from two different packs and so creating three new-Scout patrols was pretty easy. We’re a Scout-led troop and these new patrols integrated just fine, with some Troop Guides to help out their newly-elected Patrol Leaders (as you might imagine, we have no shortage of leadership-trained Scouts). This coming weekend, we have a short campout coming up. Along with our other patrols, our three new-Scout ......

In times of crisis, Scouts find a way to adapt. We’re hearing from Scouts and leaders across the country who have found creative ways to keep on Scouting even while practicing social distancing (staying home and remaining at least 6 feet from others if you must go out). Today we wanted to share another way Scouts BSA members can continue their Scouting journey during this period of isolation: by earning merit badges. Below, we have listed 58 merit badges that Scouts can complete from home. The merit badges on the list meet two main criteria: They don’t involve visits to ......

In the last couple of days, we have offered a few suggestions on how to keep Scouting alive and well during this pandemic. But it’s not just the youth who need to keep on Scouting. As commissioners, we can do a lot to help adult Scouters hang in there if we just put our minds to it. We can help leaders think about ways to stay connected with their Scouts through online meetings. Using conferencing applications and other electronic solutions we can stay in touch with unit leaders other Scouters. Meetings Online ......
