What you will need:
• Go to www.historyforkids.utah.gov (Search Utah.gov)
• This has a map of Utah with all counties and their county seats.
• Print the map or the individual counties, 2 each for 2 teams
• 2 walls, chalkboards, or whatever.
• Tape
• Small piece of paper with the name of the county seat on it.
To play, each team has a whole state all cut up and names of each county seat. Each team races to place Utah back together in the right order with the right county seat. The first team to complete Utah wins.
MY TOWN HAS TREASURE!
• A little research
• 2 or 3 teams (or more depending on the size of the group)
• Parents and cars
• Different color for each team
• A treasure map of historic sites in your town
• Treasures to put at each site (candy or toys) for each team. (Small bit of information on the place to read)
To Play: Give each team the treasure map. (I would have them go to different places, instead of all at the same place at once). Everyone wins treasure and knowledge.
