Hey, Wacky Scouters! What a blessed day to receive this week's issue of the InsaneScouter’s Weekly Newsletter.

Did you know why I called the site InsaneScouter? It was a playful pun like when you watch a kid do something silly or stupid and mutter that is “insane”. The wacky youthful spirit of the Scouts.

Mason and his helpers renovated five apartments for previously homeless veterans in Gallatin, Tenn., a city about 30 miles northeast of Nashville. Mason raised $22, 000 from local businesses and members of the community for the home, which receives no state or federal funding. With that money, he and his volunteers completed an HGTV-worthy makeover. They added new flooring, reglazed the bathtubs, and brought in new furniture and appliances. — Mason, Troop 75, Gallatin, Tenn. Scouts and Scouters serve their communities, nation, and world. The BSA offers special awards for certain accomplishments and extraordinary service — one such award is the Woods Services Award. This award is presented through a cooperation with the BSA and the Woods Services Foundation. Through this partnership, one deserving adult volunteer is nominated and selected through a small committee of previous award recipients. In 1978, about 60, 000 youth with special needs were in Scouting. Leaders at Woods Services, a health management and advocacy center for children and adults with disabilities, established the Woods Services Award in honor of Luther ......

Christopher and his helpers completely renovated a poorly maintained pond. The stone was power washed, the muck and slime were removed with a new tarp laid down, and weeds with deep roots were ripped out as new non-invasive perennials were planted. In addition, the pond received a new pump, filter system, and fountain. There were also five fancy goldfish added to the pond. — Christopher, Troop 12, Huntington, N.Y....

Hi everyone. I'm in a pickle again with my Eagle Project and I'm super worried. I started my GoFundMe fundraiser back in February for my Eagle Project (actual price came out to be around $450) after getting approval through the fundraising application. I ended up raising $405 after about a month and I was going to set up the withdrawal method for my GoFundMe page with my troop's treasurer in mid-March and begin working on the project, but then COVID-19 and social distancing happened and my project was delayed. My troop meetings were canceled and we still have ......

All of the dens in our pack have around 6-8 scouts. In the wolf den, we lost so many scouts this year that by the end we had 3 left. Now, 2 of them say they aren't returning, including the den leader and her son. The remaining scout has a younger brother that will be a tiger next year, and the dad will be with the brother during den meetings. How do other dens handle lone scouts? I know you could bring them into another den, but then this boy will be working on requirements two years in a ......
