Holiday & Seasonal Crafts/02-02

Take a 2" and 3" Styrofoam ball, use a toothpick, and glue to attach the head and
body together. Put doll top hat on head. Take the light blue ribbon and wrap
it around the base of the hat. Glue ribbon to the hat. Take light blue felt and make a scarf
for the neck. Take scissors and cut the fringe on the end of the scarf. Make two (2")
mittens out of felt. Iridescent fabric paint can be used to accent band on
hats and to make snowflakes on each mitten. Glue wiggles eyes onto the head.
Cut semicircle of orange fun foam for the nose. After gluing foam into a cone
shape (carrot shape), draw black lines on it to represent the lines of the carrot.
Glue onto face. Take five mini black pompoms to make smile.

Materials: wooden egg, heart, and ball. The heart is painted yellow
or orange. Glue the head on top of the egg. Paint front of face and body with
white acrylic paint. Paint the rest of the body and head black. For the eyes, use
black and dot with the bottom of a paintbrush. Put a small dot of white on
each eye to highlight. Penguin's wings can be made with black fun foam
or teardrop-shaped 'woodsie' painted black Glue body onto the heart. To
make the beak, use yellow fun foam. Cut two triangle shapes. Curve
one down and glue it on the face for the upper part of the beak. Curve the second one
upwards to make the lower beak.

Use a 5 x 7 wood picture frame or dark blue fun foam frame (holds a 2 1/2" x
3 1/2" wallet size picture.) Use fun foam snowflake shapes or painted wood
snowflakes to decorate the frame. Use ribbon to glue on the back of the frame to make
a hanger. Use magnets on the corners to hold the frame to the fridge. Use a favorite
winter photo in the frame.

Crash a pop can with the opening down to use as the mouth. Spray
with white enamel spray paint and let dry. Use a small piece of
a light blue ribbon as the top part of the earmuffs. Use dark blue pompoms
as earmuffs. Make a scarf out of blue felt and glue it around the neck.
Use 2 small black pompoms as buttons on the front of the
snowman. For the nose, use orange pompoms. Use oval wiggle eyes.
With red acrylic, paint the inside hole for the mouth. Enjoy!!
