“DINOSAUR” FLAG CEREMONY
Back in the time of the Dinosaurs, there were no people. The reason they
became extinct was that they just were not good citizens.
A good citizen learns about the issues and votes, not like the lazy
APATOSAURUS who was too comfortable in his swamp to go to the
polls.
A good citizen pays his fair share of taxes, honestly and with a minimum
of gripping, not like the screaming PTERANODON, with his 12 ft. wing
span, that would fly to another country when it was tax time, screaming
his doctrine from up in the sky all the way.
A good citizen is a good family person and raises responsible children, not
like the huge HADROSAUR who wouldn’t even help his children with
their homework.
A good citizen volunteers and helps other people with love in his heart and
is grateful that he has so many blessings, not like the early
DIDELPHODEN, who was an early marsupial that looked like an
opossum. He hid in his den when his neighbor needed some help. Lets
all be good citizens so we don’t become extinct.

SUNNY YELLOW DANDELIONS”
When I look at a patch of dandelions, I see a bunch of weeds that are
going to take over my yard. My kids see flowers for Mom
and blowing white fluff you can wish on.
When I look at a homeless person, and he smiles at me, I
see a smelly, dirty person who probably wants money, and I
look away. My kids see someone smiling at them and they
smile back.
When I feel the wind on my face, I brace myself against it. I feel it messing up my
hair and pulling me back when I walk. My kids close their eyes, spread their arms, and fly with
it until they fall to the ground laughing. They make kites out of the trash blowing around.
When I pray, I say thee and thou and grant me this, give me that. My kids say,
"Hi God! Thanks for my toys and my friends and that I didn’t live when the
dinosaurs did. Please keep the bad dreams away tonight. Sorry, I don't want
to go to Heaven yet. I would miss my Mommy and Daddy."
No wonder God loves the little children! Enjoy the little things in life for one day instead of
always looking at the imperfections you perceive.
