Greetings Scouters!
Greetings Scouters! Well, my daddy is still slowly recovering from that nasty cold of his. He says the congestion is a lot better now—though I still hear him sniffing a little. His throat is still pretty sore, but thankfully, the scary, loud coughing fits have been reduced to just a handful a day. So I guess he’s getting petter... or better, as he says. Either way, progress is progress!
It’s been interesting watching everything unfold these past few weeks. Daddy’s been working less, yet somehow, things are still flowing. A few sponsors even popped in, just like that! My nose twitches with curiosity, thinking maybe there’s something to this whole patience thing. With a little patience and a few hints dropped here and there, the universe keeps moving.
It reminds me of a story I once overheard, about a fisherman. This guy worked so hard, constantly going out and trying to catch fish, but he could never seem to get enough to make ends meet. He was frustrated, worked up, and really struggling. But then he noticed other fishermen who seemed to be doing nothing. They just sat on the shore, relaxed, and somehow, the fish just seemed to jump into their baskets! Now, that seemed crazy, right? Doesn’t the world require hard work?
Finally, the fisherman asked one of the guys on the shore, "How do you do it?" And the fisherman simply replied, "You’re trying too hard." So, the frustrated fisherman decided to try the opposite—he didn’t work so hard, he didn’t stress, and guess what? It worked! The fish just started to come.
Maybe that’s the trick, Scouters. Sometimes, it’s not about pushing harder, trying to control everything, or worrying about the next step. Sometimes, it’s about just being. Keep things simple, make it fun, find peace in the moment, and let the future unfold at its own pace. Just like daddy and his cold, things might take time—but they’ll get there. And maybe that’s the best part of all.
