InsaneScouter - Festive Fudge - The Outdoors Cooking Desserts

Festive Fudge

8-by-8-inch baking pan, Wax paper, 2 cups sugar, 1/2-cup butter, 15-ounce can condensed, few drops of vanilla extract, Large, heavy-based saucepan, wooden spoon, Colored cellophane, Ribbon, Knife.

Line the pan with wax paper before you start to cook. Set aside. Put the sugar, butter, condensed milk, and vanilla in a large, heavy-based saucepan. Heat gently; stirring all the time with a wooden spoon, until the sugar has dissolved and the butter has melted. Bring the mixture to a boil. Boil for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring continuously, until the mixture has thickened and turned a golden-brown color. Turn off the heat. Pour the mixture into the pan and smooth flat. Using a knife, lightly mark squares on the top of the fudge. Leave to cool completely before removing from the pan and cutting into squares. After cutting wrap fudge in the colored cellophane and tie with the ribbon. You can cut squares into larger squares and wrap to look like a present or wrap smaller squares into a bundle.
