Chinese Juggling Sticks

What you'll need:

1 (5/8" x 24") hardwood dowel              2 (3/8" x 18") hardwood dowels
1 roll of rubber tape                               3 (4" x 12") strips of felt (to match colored tape)
1 roll of duct tape                                  3 rolls of colored electrical tape (different colors)
                                                              1 can of Fabric-Tac permanent adhesive

Directions: Find the center of the large dowel by measuring. Wrap tape on either side of the center and put
a strip of colored tape around the center. Take the same colored tape as in the center and, beginning
from the outside center, wrap it around the stick in candy cane fashion, leaving space for the
width of rubber tape to also be wrapped around in candy cane style. Wrap the rubber tape
around the same way covering the dowel with alternating rubber and colored tapes. Do this on
both sides. Wrap the duct tape on both ends in equal weight (1/2" x 3/4") around both ends.
Test weight by balancing the center on a figure. Cur the felt into 1/2" wide by 3" long strips, as
shown below. A pair of pinking shears make it look decorative. Stack the 3 strips and wrap
the non-cut end with Fabric-Tac adhesive around the duct tape.

Hand Sticks

Alternate colored and rubber tapes around 2/3rds of smaller dowels in candy cane style. Wrap
extra rubber tape around the end. For the other 1/3 of the stick, cover candy cane style with your
choice of colored tape. Wrap a couple of extra times around the end.

                  

Chorus Line Frog Puppets

3 - 2" solid rubber balls             Felt                               Wiggle eyes
Shoebox (no lid)                        Scissors                       White glue
Wire coat hangers                     Knife                            Wire cutters
Paint brushes                            Spray paint                   Acrylic paints

Cut the three balls in half, and then on three of the halves cut a slit across the top. Cut out felt
circles to cover all 6 halves (the flat side). Glue on felt. Cut the bottom of a shoebox on a diagonal
from top to bottom. Paint frog bodies on the box as shown and spray balls, and glue on eyes on ball
halves without slits. Install balls on the box by fitting the slit in balls over the box edge. Cut three
sections of coat hanger, each 6-8". Push coat hanger section into each un-slit ball half. By
moving the rods, you can make it appear that frogs can talk!
