What do we see when we look at the word America?
What pictures do the seven letters create in your mind?
A suggests our magnificent snow-covered mountain peaks and the
wigwams of the original Americans.
M symbolizes the broad shoulders of our pioneers, shoulders-to-
the-wheel pushing our frontiers westward.
E looks like the lariats of the cowboys riding the plains.
Lariats of Kit Carson and Buffalo Bill.
R is a person with outstretched arms in friendship toward all
who love freedom, justice, and peace.
I is the individual American with their right to life, liberty, and
the pursuit of happiness.
C is a bent back of Americans who work hard to make this the
the richest country that has ever existed.
The final 'A' is a man on his knees in prayer, symbolizing a nation
which recognizes its Creator and gives thanks for His blessings.
Yes, America is a beautiful word!
CUB MASTER MINUTE "9/11" 
Many people were questioning our faith in God right after the terrorist attack on America. Their
question that was asked, was "Where was your God that day?"
I know where God was the morning of September 11, 2001!
He was very busy. He was trying to discourage anyone from taking these flights.
(The four flights together held over 1000 passengers, and there were only 266 aboard.) He was
on 4 commercial flights giving terrified passengers the ability to stay calm. (Not one of the
family members who were called by a loved one, on one of the hijacked planes, said that
passengers were screaming in the background). On one flight, He was giving strength to
passengers to try to overtake the hijackers. He was busy trying to create obstacles for employees
at the World Trade Center. (Only around 20,000 were at the towers when the first jet hit. Since
the buildings hold over 50,000 workers, this was a miracle in itself. Why were so many late for
work or had traffic delays?) He was holding up two 110-story buildings so that 2/3 of the
workers could get out. It was so amazing that the top of the towers didn't topple when the jets
impacted. Where was God? His miracles were in every part of it.
