We are in the 100th year of Scouting!!! We are planning for the next 12 months what we are going to do with our Pack. Oh, and surprise, we need you to take over the Pack Coordinator for Cub Scout Day Camp position.
If you got this far and have seen my other blogs, I am a Den Leader, Pack Trainer, etc. so when I was asked to do this, I almost burned out. The Lesson Learned, don't take more on that you can handle, it is ok to say NO. Also know who "has your back", do you have another Den Leader for your Den? If you do great, I do and I can't tell you how that is a stress reliever.
We are moving on into the Scouting year. I have done the Requirements to Advancement with support of the boy's families. Now my other Den Leader will be doing all the Den Meetings after the first Den Meeting in February and that will allow me to start talking to the boys and the parents.
Why is that important? Keep the boys interested and having fun. Know what the parents expectations are.
Don't burn out!!! Turn the afterburners off for a day or 2 and then come back to it. We have your back and let us know if we can help you.
Yours In Scouting,
